Name Reservation Process on the MoC Portal
- Approving the Name:
- The first step is to confirm the business name suggestions with the client before proceeding.
- Submit the Application:
- The required documents for name reservation include:
- A letter with the name to be reserved, including the business activities
- Power of Attorney (PoA)
- Trade License for the parent company (translated into Arabic and original)
- ID of the person submitting the application
- MISA License
- Steps:
- Log in to the MoC Portal.
- Choose "Reserve Name for Foreign Entity."
- Upload the required documents (PoA, parent company Trade License, team member ID from the PoA, name reservation form, and MISA License).
- Submit the application for review.
- The required documents for name reservation include:
- Approve the Application:
- The Ministry of Commerce will verify that the proposed name matches the parent company’s name and is aligned with the business activities. This process typically takes about 2 days.
- Name is Reserved:
- Once the name is reserved, save the name reservation number, as it will be required for the next steps in the business setup, including the AoA process.
- Update MISA License:
- After the new name is approved and reserved, the MISA License must be updated by changing the Saudi entity’s name to reflect the approved name.

- Submit AoA for Attestation:
- The Articles of Association (AoA) attestation is done in person at the Saudi Business Center, but the MoC Portal plays an important role in preparing for this step. You will need:
- A letter from the Ministry of Commerce (MoC) signed by the authorized person
- Original PoA
- SBC Application number
- Visit the Saudi Business Center in person, take a ticket number, and submit the application documents to the SBC employee for processing.
