Understanding the GOSI Portal and Its Registration Process

Find out key details regarding the GOSI Portal for Saudi Arabia business compliance. Learn the registration process, contribution breakdown, and how to manage your workforce

What is the GOSI Portal?

The General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI) is a critical platform for businesses in Saudi Arabia. It manages the social insurance system, ensuring that both Saudi and non-Saudi employees are covered under specific labor and insurance laws. Any company operating in Saudi Arabia must register with GOSI to comply with the Kingdom’s labor regulations.

By obtaining a GOSI certificate, businesses confirm their compliance with mandatory contributions for employees’ social insurance and other labor benefits. The certificate is required for a company to operate smoothly, secure contracts, and access various business opportunities.

How to Register on the GOSI Portal

Registering with GOSI is a straightforward process that businesses need to complete to comply with Saudi labor laws. Follow these steps:

  1. Create an Account: Go to the official GOSI portal (gosi.gov.sa) and set up an account for your business by providing essential company details.
  2. Submit Required Documents: You’ll need to submit key business information and documents, including your company’s registration, tax ID, and details about your employees (both Saudi and non-Saudi).
  3. Employee Enrollment: Once your company is registered, enroll your employees into the system by adding their personal details, such as employment status, salary, and identification information.
  4. Verify Contributions: GOSI automatically calculates the contributions based on the employee’s salary. These contributions must be paid monthly to ensure compliance.
  5. Obtain the GOSI Certificate: After registering and making the necessary contributions, you can generate your GOSI certificate electronically through the portal. This certificate is valid for 30 days and must be regularly updated.
